I am in such love with this young man!Dylan When a call comes in about an injured puppy it is really hard for us to say no. When we saw this face we immediately went into action! This adorable, 8-10 week old boy, now known as Dylan, was found by a good samaritan and brought to the Downey Shelter in Los Angeles. Unable to stand the shelter staff immediately started calling rescues. With the help of some great friends we were able to get him sprung and transported to the vet with in 24 hours! Even in a tremendous amount of pain Dylan gives kisses, nose nibbles and just wants to snuggle close to you. X-rays confirmed Dylan has 3 fractures to his pelvis on the left side and a broken Femur on the right side. Dylan will require surgery to repair his broken leg and stabilize his pelvis. Initial estimate is $3200. We need your help! Please consider making a 100% tax deductible donation towards Dylan's medical care. This special boy needs all of us right now! Just a country gal looking for a country home.Violet Treeing Walker Coonhound (short coat) :: Female (spayed) :: Adult Beautiful Violet was adopted from B&B a couple of years ago and dearly loved. She is 4 years old and 50 lbs. For some reason, she recently started getting over the family's fence - perhaps crawling up the ivy covered chain link. But, pretty risky and scary stuff that they've not been able to remedy. So, she is looking for a home where she's secure. Her other favorites are a doggie companion, active family and yummy food and treats! She takes a small dose of phenobarbitol to control seizures that she started having a year or so ago....we'll send out a goodly supply with her. Housetrained and good with other dogs and kiddos - Keep her busy and don't inadvertently make it possible for her to "ladder" up your fences/walls - and she's happy as can be - and will bring much joy to the family*~*~*~*~ All our dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a new leash, collar, ID tag and all medical records. We can microchip and always love to board our graduates. Check out the "Boarding" section of our web. You can learn more about the adoption process from our website under "adopt a dog" and "contact and hours." Please bring the family and other dogs to visit any open house day/time. Thanx! She was a wonderful mom. Now she needs a wonderful mom.Dalena This beauty is a playful, hearty gal! She is sweet, happy go lucky, exuberant. Our walking teams are working with her to improve her walking/leash skills! She tries really hard but sometimes, the joy of being OUTSIDE WITH PEOPLE gets her swooning and forgetting that she needs to be a little less exuberant. Dal loves the park, the dogs, the kids who run pell mell towards her that she greets with joy. Dal isn't used to lots of positive attention so its really pretty wonderful to watch her process the information that "they like me, they really like me!!!!" About the FuzziesThe Fuzzies were born in 2003 as a collection of currently available dogs that appealed to me as I looked through various rescue and shelter web sites. My hope was that friends would consider a rescue or shelter dog for the next addition to their families once they saw how many adorable ones were out there. Kim's Fuzzies has grown quite a bit since then but the goal is still the same. I want to present that there are other places to adopt new family members than backyard breeders, puppy mills and pet stores (Please note that I support the aspirations of legitimate breeders to better their breeds without an eye towards pimping their dogs for money). I want to show people that their images of shelter and rescue dogs may be wrong - there are stunning dogs that end up in shelters and move to rescue every day. There are also, unfortunately, stunning and adoptable dogs that get euthanized every day because there are never enough rescues to help solve the problem. Awareness is everything. Please do not assume that, if you see a dog you like and then they aren't on the next list that they have been adopted. I rotate the fuzzies I include to give the best exposure to a greater number of potential adoptees. Always call the shelter or rescue and ask the status of any dog you find yourself drawn to. Additionally, if you are drawn to an animal but aren't sure you're ready for the lifelong commitment, please consider fostering (a temporary arrangement that pulls them from the danger of euthanization to live with you for a short time until they find the perfect forever family). It is so incredibly rewarding and addictive. Let me know if you need information about how to do this and I'll hook you up. The sites that I typically pull these from are as follows, in case you or a friend are seriously considering a fuzzy and want to check out the pre-screening procedures: San Diego Department of Animal Control - CS Friends of County Animal Shelters - FOCAS San Diego Humane Society - HS Rancho Coastal Humane Society - RC Helen Woodward Animal Center - HW Westside German Shepherd Rescue of L.A. - GS Labradors and Friends - LAB Beagles and Buddies - BB Pit Bull Rescue San Diego Coastal Shepherd Rescue - CSR Boxers N Birds - BNB

Please, if you visit one of the fuzzies on my list, whether you adopt or not, drop me a line and let me know your opinions of the pup as this can be helpful to me in finding the perfect home for some of these dears. And of course, if you adopt, please drop me a line so I can include you as a success story for your new family member.
